The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX6 is a fantastic value DJ controller and has great features and a fantastic value at the street price of $599.

The DDJ-FLX6 features full size jog wheels, Merge FX, and dual sample decks. The jog wheels on this unit are the same size you’ll find on the industry standard CDJ-3000, which will help you get a feel for top of the line gear, while you sharpen your skills at a lower price point.

The FLX6 is perfect for entry or intermediate level DJs looking to mix with strong FX capabilities and also works for pro DJs looking for a backup controller. This controller features two decks to play your tracks, while the other two decks support sample playback. Using the Rekordbox Sample Scratch feature, you can load up samples and layer them over your mix. When used along with Jog Cutter mode, you can take samples you’ve loaded into your sample decks and use them as the sonic basis for the Jog Cutter effect.

  • What: This is a 4 Channel DJ Controller featuring both Rekordbox and Serato DJ. The FLX6 follows the typical Pioneer flow layout like a pro CDJ/DJM Setup and has full sized jog wheels.
  • When: This is primarily used for mobile DJs, but can also be used in studio as it has a lot of FX and sampling ability, as well as the Jog Cutter which allows for easy scratching.
  • Why: This piece added lots of new features and conveniences from scratching, merge FX, a 3 band EQ on each channel as well as the on job display position playhead, and doesn’t require a power adapter with its usb power. It also comes with Serato DJ and Serato Pitch n Time & FX pack, making it a great piece for recording your mixes live or in studio.
