Fostex T60RP Premium Mahogany Semi-Open Stereo Monitoring Headphones - Refurbished

My favorite headphones by far, especially with a set of ZMF pads. Good amount of bass but not overwhelming. The refurb model was in great shape too.

I can't believe these are refurbished, the only indication that they're refurbished is that the box has been opened, and that's it. The cable looks brand new, the ear cups and pads look brand new and unused, and they work phenomenally well. I had bought a set of T50RPs a couple of years ago and absolutely fell in love, just wish that they were a bit nicer looking aesthetically, and these fit the bill perfectly. They sound every bit as good and then some, especially with the ZMF suede ear pads (transferred them over from my T50RPs). Ridiculously good price on what is essentially a new headphone, and some of the best sounding headphones out there. Planar drivers really are a huge leap beyond standard transducers, and believe it or not, I actually prefer these and the T50RPs to much more expensive alternatives such as Hifiman and Audeze. The build quality might not be *quite* as top notch, but neither is the price. The value here is outstanding. Did I mention that they shipped ridiculously fast? Basically got them the next day! these refurb T60RP look like new. they also bested my expectations and have a nice tonality. a little bright for my tastes but doesn't overpower the nice mids and adequate bass. will be modding these to tame the highs slightly. also got a squeaky cup and hope to tackle that soon. I have a balanced cable on the way but the SE output on my fiio K7 handle these nicely. I am very happy my portable topping G5 can power these nicely on high gain so I have mobile freedom at my house. the stock earpads are not my cup of tea though as they are very hot. if you have any doubts on the T60 I highly recommend you give them a try. I think the wood cups give the sound a nice tonality and for the money spent these are more detailed than I expected. just make sure you have an amp capable of powering these. they like juice, especially current.
